Mars Hill finishes fifth at BMC Championships
The Mars Hill men's swim team placed fifth at the conclusion of the 2021 Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships, amassing 341 points.
FORT MILL, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's swim team placed fifth at the conclusion of the 2021 Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships, amassing 341 points.
Saturday Recap:
Brendon Cyprianos, in the 100 yard backstroke, placed 12th overall and picked up 15 points. He swam a time of 51.39. Matthew Goslin placed 12th overall in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 57.61 to earn an additional 15 points. In the same race, Dalton Davidson earned four points for Mars Hill with a time of 1:07.35
In the 500 yard freestyle, Matthew Kowalczyk turned in a time of 5:11.82 to gain three points for Mars Hill in the standings.
Sunday Recap:
Kowalczyk, in the 1650 yard freestyle, placed 18th and added seven points to the Lions' total. He turned in a time of 18:23.72.
In the 100 yard freestyle, Thomas Gibson placed 13th overall with a time of 45.96, picking up 14 points. Alex Bouhlel finished 21st overall with a time of 48.06, earning an additonal four points while Ryan Adams added two more, finishing 23rd overall.
Cyprianos placed 10th overall in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.21, earning 17 points to the Lions' total. Goslin finished 11th overall in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:05.95, accumulating 16 points. Davidson added nine more points with a time of 2:31.86.
To finish the event, the quartet of Gibson, Cyprianos, Bouhlel, and Goslin placed fifth in the 400 yard freestyle relay, swimming a time of 3:08.81 and collecting 50 points.
