Lions open SAC play versus Newberry
The Mars Hill men's tennis team (2-5, 0-1 SAC) opened South Atlantic Conference play Sunday afternoon, falling 6-1 versus Newberry (4-1, 1-0 SAC).
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's tennis team (2-5, 0-1 SAC) opened South Atlantic Conference play Sunday afternoon, falling 6-1 versus Newberry (4-1, 1-0 SAC).
Despite the duo of Rodrigo Ramos and Fernando Neto claiming victory in their doubles contest, the Wolves were able to take the other two doubles' matches, entering singles play up 1-0. The Wolves won 5-of-6 singles matches to claim the victory over Mars Hill.
Kyrel Trim picked up the lone Mars Hill singles' win, downing Luke Layton in straight sets.
Mars Hill returns to action on Saturday, February 8 when they host Wingate. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
