ROCK HILL, S.C. – Seniors Ansley Ricker and Cadence Wilmoth have earned 2015-16 South Atlantic Conference All-Conference accolades as announced by the league on Thursday, March 03. Ricker landed a spot on the first-team while Wilmoth found herself as an honorable mention following stellar seasons from both players.
Ricker had a magnificent senior season for the Blue and Gold as she was a catalyst for an offense that finished fifth in the league averaging 68.5 points per game. Ansley was able to lead the team in scoring, pouring in 15.8 per game and free throw percentage at 88.7%. Those numbers were also good for fourth and first in the SAC, respectively. Ricker was always a threat for the long ball, garnering a 38% clip on the year. She scored double-figure points in 22 of the 25 games she appeared in, including a season-high 28 points against Carson-Newman on February 3.
Wilmoth was a leader of the Lions throughout the entire season, finishing second on the team behind Ricker with 14.5 points per game. That number was good enough for seventh in the league as well. Cadence sported a cool 49.8% field goal percentage, which was second on the team, while also knocking down 83% from the charity stripe. She finished second in the conference in blocks per game, tallying 2.1 rejections per contest. Like Ricker, Wilmoth was a scoring machine, collecting double figures in 25 of 28 games this year. Her most impressive performance came against Lincoln Memorial on February 6 as she collected her first career triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and an astonishing 10 blocked shots.
