MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill acrobatics & tumbling team closed out their 2024 season on Senior Day, falling to Lander by a score of 259.370-246.150.
The Lions trailed by just over one point after the compulsory event, recording a 9.50 in the pyramid heat and a 9.60 in the toss heat. In the acro event, the Lions scored a team-high 9.60 in the first heat, the 5-Element.
Lander scored two 9.75s in the acro event, taking the event by a score of 28.75-25.05, building their lead to over four points. In the pyramid event, Lander scored a meet-high 9.80 in the synchronized heat.
At the half, Lander led 93.75-87.20.
In the tumbling event, the Lions outscored Lander in four of six heats. Nasiri Mond scored an 8.850 in the aerial pass while Katelynn Huffman scored a team-high 8.925 in the 6-Element. Arwen Mamer scored an 8.325 in the open pass to round out the tumbling event.
At the conclusion of the meet, seniors Brynlie Johnson, Alexis McPherson, and Sabrina Kennedy were recognized and celebrated for their contributions to the program.
