Lions place third after first round of MHU Spring Invitational

LORIS, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's golf team sits in third place after the opening round of the Mars Hill University Spring Invitational.
Nicholas Boone was the top placing Lion after day one, finishing the round with a total score of 79 and tied for 10th along with Callum Ritchie.
Carter Phillips placed 20th on the day with an opening round 81 and was followed by Stephen Thomasson, who ended the day in 27th. Will Byrd rounded out the Lions' squad by finishing 32nd.
Mars Hill sits behind Cape Fear Community College by 18 strokes for first place and the University of Charleston by 11 strokes for second.
