Mars Hill finishes in eighth at SAC Championships
The Mars Hill men's indoor track and field team finished in eighth place at the South Atlantic Conference Championships held Monday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's indoor track and field team finished in eighth place at the South Atlantic Conference Championships held Monday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Spencer Shade picked up 10 points for Mars Hill with his win in the pole vault. Shade recorded a mark of 4.30m (14'1.25").
Cameron France posted a time of 22.89 in the 200 meter to place 11th overall. Nicholas Izquierdo, Malik Frost and Shane Ward finished 21st, 29th and 32nd, respectively. Izquierdo also ran in the 400 meter race, finishing 11th with a time of 52.36.
In the 800 meter, Ethan Murray placed 16th overall, running a time of 2:05.09. Jared Stanley finished in 19th. William Barbee, Matthew Rogers and Christopher Gomez all finished in the top 20 for the mile race, placing 11th, 14th and 20th, respectively.
Noah Allison finished fifth in the 3000 meter finals with a time of 8:50.89 to earn four points for the Lions. As part of the distance medley relay, Allison along with Izquierdo, Stanley and Garrett Farrimond placed fourth to pick up another five points on the day.
Bryan Smith earned Mars Hill two points in the triple jump with a mark of 12.92m (42'4.75").
