Lions open spring slate at Pawley's Island Beach Bash

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's and women's golf teams opened their spring tournament schedule at the Pawley's Island Beach Bash, taking place from Wednesday, March 12-Thursday, March 13.

MEN'S RECAP:

The Lions placed 14th in the tournament, hosted by Ohio Dominican.

The top placing Lion was Samuel Singleton, shotting 22-over. Hank Berning and Aiden Hyder followed, shooting 24-over through the two rounds. 

Avery Harden rounded out the squad, shooting 25-over.

WOMEN'S RECAP:

Mars Hill placed seventh out of nine teams in the tournament, hosted by Gannon University.

Payton Balliet finished just outside of the top-10, shooting 16-over to finish 13th overall. Allyson Childs, shooting 22-over, placed 26th overall.

Following Childs, Chelsea Baker finished 29th overall while Laycee Hoffman rounded out the team, placing 34th overall.

The teams return to the links on Saturday, March 15 when they open up play at the Saginaw Valley State University Spring Invitational.
