Mitchell, Sanner selected to All-Conference Teams, Mars Hill slated in 7th
Mars Hill University garnered 38 points to finish in seventh place in SAC preseason polling, as revealed early Monday morning. Junior defenseman Oscar Mitchell was named to preseason First Team All-Conference. Senior forward Stian Sanner landed on Second Team.
ROCK HILL, S.C.- Mars Hill University garnered 38 points to finish in seventh place in SAC preseason polling, as revealed early Monday morning. Junior defenseman Oscar Mitchell was named to preseason First Team All-Conference. Senior forward Stian Sanner landed on Second Team.
The Lions' finished seventh last season in the conference with a record of 4-6-1, picking up conference victories against Catawba, Carson-Newman, Queens, and Lincoln Memorial. They boasted an impressive 5-2-1 home record.
Mitchell was sixth on the team in shots (12) and sixth in team scoring with two goals and two assists. He started in fifteen-of-sixteen contests.
Sanner posted five goals and two assists during eleven conference games last season which landed him second overall in team scoring. He paced the offense versus other conference foes with eleven of his eighteen shots finding their way on goal.
Defending conference champions Wingate hold the top spot after receiving ten first-place votes. Tusculum (1), Lenoir-Rhyne, Lincoln Memorial, and Catawba round out the top five.
