Lions compete at Finn Pincus Invitational
The Mars Hill men's indoor track & field team competed at the Finn Pincus Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
ROANOKE, Va. - The Mars Hill men's indoor track & field team competed at the Finn Pincus Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Day 1 Highlights:
Levi Higgins placed third in high jump, matching his season best 1.95m.
Jackson McClain ran a personal best 7.04s in the 60m, advancing from prelims to the semi-finals. McClain ran a 7.04 in the semi's and finished 14th overall on the day.
Ethan Lee competed in the 60m dash as well, finishing in a time of 7.28s. Lee placed 32nd overall.
Traveon Howell placed 14th in the 60m hurdles, finishing in a time of 9.66s.
Day 2 Highlights:
Ben Goodlett advanced to the finals in shot put, placing seventh overall with a new personal best throw of 13.9m.
Justus Shelton placed 17th in shot put with a personal best throw of 12.29m.
Ashtin Gainey threw a new personal best 10.88m in shot put, placing 33rd overall.
Jared Benain placed 12th in long jump with a mark of 6.15m. Traveon Howell jumped a personal best 5.99m in long jump, placing 14th overall. Wanya Martin placed 27th in long jump, jumping a new best 5.4m.
Ethan Lee won his heat in the 200m sprint with a time of 23.99s. Lee placed 25th overall in the event.
Thomas Bertelsen ran a personal best 55.5s in the 400m, placing 30th overall.
Blake Freeman placed 42nd in the mile, finishing with a season best time of 5:14.35.
Lee Prescott placed 12th in men's weight throw with a toss of 13.37m.
Next up, the Lions travel to Liberty University on February 4 to compete in the Liberty Open.
