Lions open 2023 slate at Gamecock Opener
The Mars Hill men's and women's indoor track & field teams traveled to the University of South Carolina to compete in the Gamecock Opener on Saturday.
COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's and women's indoor track & field teams traveled to the University of South Carolina to compete in the Gamecock Opener on Saturday.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
Keagan Osika competed in the 60m and the 200m. Osika ran a personal best 8.31 in the 60m, placing 26th overall in the event. She won her heat in the open 200m with a season best time of 27.6 and placed 27th overall.
Cierra Williams threw a season best 9.68m in shot put, placing 16th overall on the day.
Alina Mueller finished 11th in high jump, clearing a height of 1.45m.
Elana Mackey ran a season best 1:06.4 in the open 400m, placing 24th overall in the event.

MEN'S RESULTS
Ben Goodlett set a new personal best in shot put with a throw of 13.61m. He advanced to the finals, placing fifth overall in his event.
Lee Prescott kicked his day off by throwing a new personal best 13.78m in weight throw. Prescott advanced to the finals placing, eighth overall. Lee also made the finals in shot put, placing eighth overall with a season best throw of 12.6m.
Justus Shelton placed 10th overall in shot put with a new personal best throw of 11.92m.
Jared Benain advanced to the finals in the long jump, placing eighth overall with a new personal best jump of 6.33m.
Ethan Lee competed in the 60m and 200m sprints, setting new personal bests in both. Lee placed 19th overall in the 60m, finishing with a time of 7.27 seconds. He followed that up by running a 23.5 second 200m, placing second in his heat and 21st overall.
Levi Higgins tied for third in high jump with a jump of 1.95m
Next up, Mars Hill travels to Roanoke College to compete in the Finn Pincus Invitational on Friday, January 20th and Saturday, January 21st.
