Metcalf Committs to Women’s Basketball
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Lions' women's basketball program has added a player for the 2010-11 academic year, Head Coach Jen Nance announced today. Kristen Metcalf has committed to compete for Mars Hill next season.
Metcalf, a 5'7" combo guard is from Black Mountain, N.C., where
she attended Owen High School and graduated in 2005. During the
2005-06 season she competed at USC Upstate where she started 17
games and averaged 24 minutes and eight points, knocking down a
team high 60 three-pointers in her freshman campaign. Kristen took
some time off from school to work and is now ready to continue her
basketball career at Mars Hill College.
Head Coach Jen Nance stated, "I am excited that Kristen has chosen
Mars Hill College to continue her education and playing career.
Because Kristen has been in the real world working, she really
appreciates the opportunity to play basketball again. She is a gym
rat and a great student who is anxious to get back into a uniform.
Her maturity and experience will help take this program to the next
level."
Mars Hill College is a NCAA Division II institution and a member of the South Atlantic Conference. The league is comprised of schools in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
