Women’s Swimming Loses Tri-Meet at Catawba
SALISBURY, N.C. - Mars Hill's women's swimming team lost a tri-meet against Catawba College and Converse College Saturday afternoon at the Abernethy Physical Education Center. Convverse won the event with a score of 84. Catawba had a totoal of 64 points while the Lions recorded 50. The Lions fell to 4-2 on the season.
Nicole Day (Maggie Valley, N.C.) was the only individual winner. She won all three of her events in the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and the 400 free relay. Day, along with Ashley Varga (Port Charlotte, N.C.), Tiffany Golding (Dobson, N.C.) and Lena Palo (Lexington, S.C) broke the existing school record in the 400 free relay. They had a time of 3:46.63. The old record was 3:46.87.

MHC will compete at Lenoir-Rhyne University on November 6. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
