Women's Tennis Falls to North Greenville
The Mars Hill women’s tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to North Greenville on Tuesday afternoon.
TIGERVILLE, S.C.- The Mars Hill women's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to North Greenville on Tuesday afternoon. The Lions fall to 2-1 on the season while North Greenville improves to 1-1.
Lucy McLaurin and Jasha Geerdink each won two matches on the afternoon. The duo teamed up to win the top doubles match 8-4 over Maria Vargas and Rebecca Beacham. McLaurin was a winner in number one singles over Vargas in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 10-8. Geerdink defeated Beacham in number two singles 6-2, 6-3. Samantha Echevarria won her number three singles match 6-2, 6-1 over Aline Ribeiro.
North Greenville won number two and number three doubles to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles play. With the Lions leading 4-2, North Greenville won the final three singles flights in straight sets to win the match.
Mars Hill plays their lone home match of the fall on Saturday against Tusculum at 1 p.m.
