Mars Hill falls in extras versus LMU
The Mars Hill baseball team (14-18) hosted Lincoln-Memorial (16-13) in midweek action on Wednesday afternoon at Don Henderson Field.

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill baseball team (14-18) hosted Lincoln-Memorial (16-13) in midweek action on Wednesday afternoon at Don Henderson Field.
A late three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning off the bat of Cameron Bower tied the game at six to send it into extra innings. In the top of the tenth, the Railsplitters were able to plate three runs and held the Lions scoreless, securing the 9-6 win.
The Lions led the game 6-2 through the first four innings of play, thanks in part to a three-run home run from Kyle Jenkins in the first inning, scoring Tyler Lala and Alex Naran. Jenkins and Lala each had two hits on the game.
Cody Bruns entered the game late for the Lions on the mound and was given his first loss on the season. Beau Nichols earned his second win for the Railsplitters after throwing two scoreless innings.
The Lions are back in action on Friday, as they play Lenoir-Rhyne in a three-game SAC series at home. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
