Mars Hill falls to Lander on road
The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (3-3) fell to Lander (3-1) by a score of 23-10 Saturday afternoon in their first road contest of the season.

GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (3-3) fell to Lander (3-1) by a score of 23-10 Saturday afternoon in their first road contest of the season.
Despite opening the scoring with a Spencer Andrews' goal, the Bearcats responded with five straight goals as Tyler Kralj led the Lander run with two. The Lions cut the lead back down to two with goals from Zac Carrigan and Marius Robinson.
Lander struck with three straight goals in the second as Adam Mather assisted on all three tallies. Mars Hill responded with three goals of their own, scored by Carrigan, Zach Wright, and Andrews. The Bearcats, once again in the frame, netted three in a row with Mather picking up two more assists and Eli Copeland scoring twice.
Carson Theriault recorded four points (1g, 3a) in the third quarter as the Bearcats outscored Mars Hill 8-2 to take a 20-9 lead into the final frame. Lander added three more markers in the fourth to pick up their third win of the season.
Theriault led all players with 10 points (4g, 6a) followed by Mather's nine (3g, 6a). Carrigan paced the Lions' offense with five points (3g, 2a).
The Lions open up their South Atlantic Conference schedule on Saturday, March 7 when they face Catawba on the road. Faceoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
