GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Lions women's cross country team finished 11th out of 18 teams at the Furman XC Classic on Saturday, September 10 during the 6k run. The team showed vast improvement over the course of a year, moving up five spots after a 16th place finish at the meet last fall.
Coming off an impressive performance at App State last weekend, Kaleigh Jackson was able to record a new personal-best in the race, crossing the line at 24:07.27, good for a 31st place finish.
Running in their first ever 6k race, freshmen Sydney Britt, Rachel Strickland, and Kali Clemmer all turned in great times and were faster at the 5k mark today than they were last week during the App State meet.
The team will be back in action one week from today as they compete in the Montevallo Pre-Region Meet. The race is set to begin at 8 a.m.
