Women's Cross Country Impresses at Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's cross country team competed in the Queens Twilight Meet on Friday, October 07. One of the biggest races of the year with 45 teams the Lions were able to take home a 29th place finish.
Kaleigh Jackson set a new personal-best in the 5k race, crossing the line at 18:59, breaking the 19 minute barrier for the first time in her running career.
A total of six runners for the Lions were able to turn in personal-bests. Rachel Strickland finished 127th with a time of 20:33.1, while Sydney Britt turned in a 21:17.4, good enough for 163rd.
The Lions have two weeks to prepare for the SAC Championships on Saturday, October 22.
