History Made: MHU Acro & Tumbling debuts versus Limestone

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill acrobatics and tumbling team made history Thursday night inside Chambers Gymnasium when they kicked off their inaugural season.
The Lions took on the Saints of Limestone University in their first meet. The Saints came away with a 265.355-196.010 win.
In the first event, the compulsory, Limestone went on to score 37.95 points out of 40. The Lions, in compulsory pyramid, scored their highest heat of the night with a 9.50. They followed it up in the next event, the compulsory toss, with a 9.0.
Limestone began to pull away in the acro event, outscoring the Lions 27.65-18.30 after the three heats. In the pyramid, the last event before the half, the Saints posted 29.55 points out of 30.
Coming back from the half, the Lions scored 24 out of 26.85 points in their most consistent event, the toss. Of the six-heat tumbling event, the Saints outscored Mars Hill 50.475-41.550. Jocelyn Wente scored an 8.425 out of 8.85 in her aerial pass while Destiny Satterlee scored an 8.75 out of 9.1 in the open pass.
To close out the night was the team event. Limestone scored 92.68 out of their starting value of 102.59. The Lions scored 56.56 out of their 83.16 start value.
