Mars Hill records highest score to date in program's first tri-meet
The Mars Hill acrobatics & tumbling team (0-5) set a new program high by scoring 236.315 points in their first-ever tri meet versus Coker (3-2) and Lander (2-3).
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill acrobatics & tumbling team (0-5) set a new program high by scoring 236.315 points in their first-ever tri meet versus Coker (3-2) and Lander (2-3).
Coker won the meet, scoring 261.860 points, defeating Lander by just under six points (255.885).
The Lions' highest scoring event came in the compulsory toss heat where they scored a 9.25. Mars Hill recorded a 9.15 in the compulsory pyramid.
In the pyramid event, in the third heat, the Lions recorded their third nine of the night, posting a 9.10.
The Lions scored strong in the tumbling event, including solid performances by Jocelyn Wente, Elaine Muenks, and Destiny Satterlee, each scoring over 8.5's.

Mars Hill takes to the road for the first-time ever on Saturday, March 26 when they face King and Converse in their second straight tri-meet. The meet is set for a 3 p.m. start.
