Regalado, Ortiz earn All-Conference honors

MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill's Angel Regalado and Erwin Ortiz earned Bluegrass Mountain Conference All-Conference honors, as announced by the conference's coaches on Wednesday morning.
Regalado and Ortiz, with their medalling performances at the conference championships, solidified their selections.
Regalado, a freshman from Madrid, Spain, placed fifth in the 1650 yard freestyle and swam a national qualifying time of 16:02.26. Throughout the 2017-18 season, Regalado made national cuts in the 500, 1000 and 1650 yard freestyle events.
The sophomore native of Asheville, North Carolina, Ortiz finished fifth in the 500 yard freestyle and seventh in the 200 yard freestyle at the conference championships. Ortiz swam a time of 4:35.08 for the top five result. During the campaign, Ortiz made national cuts for both events.
