Stanek Named to Capital One Academic All-District Team
Senior Robyn Stanek has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District III team
MARS HILL, N.C.- Mars Hill senior Robyn Stanek has been recognized for her performance on the field and in the classroom as a member of the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District III Softball first team.
Stanek batted .337 with 24 runs scored, 34 hits, three doubles, five home runs and 15 RBI in 34 games as she earned All-SAC first team honors. In the classroom she holds a 3.96 GPA as a Biology and Science Education major. The 2014 South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the year for softball, Stanek previously made the Academic All-District team in 2013.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
The Academic All-District teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools. First-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
