Lions close out season on Senior Day

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (4-11, 2-8 SAC) was defeated by Tusculum (7-9, 4-6 SAC) by a score of 12-9 Saturday afternoon.
Tusculum led 5-2 after the first 15 minutes of play with Kamryn McNeil scoring twice. Sydney Joyce and Alexa Tazzetta scored the two Mars Hill goals.
In the second quarter, the Lions outscored Tusculum 4-3 to enter the half down 8-6. Joyce and Tazzetta netted their second goals of the game in the frame while Haley Stallings and Chandler Werner scored the other two markers. Tiffany Saavedra picked up two assists in the frame.
Tia Daniel scored the only two goals of the third quarter just 17 seconds apart to send the Pioneers into the fourth, leading by four.
Werner netted two goals in the fourth while Tazzetta scored the third Mars Hill goal, both finishing off their hat-trick bids.
McNeil led all players with five points (3g, 2a) while Daniel added four (2g, 2a).
Tazzetta led the Lions with four points (3g, 1a) followed by three from Werner (3g).
Prior to the start of the contest, seniors Alexa Tazzetta, Sydney Joyce, Tiffany Saavedra, Camryn Marcey, and Lilly McConothy were recognized for their contributions to the women's lacrosse program.
