MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (2-5, 0-2 SAC) was defeated by Lincoln Memorial (2-6, 1-1 SAC) by a score of 20-3 Wednesday afternoon.
Lincoln Memorial went on a 6-0 run to build their lead in the first quarter. They led 7-2 after the first 15 minutes. Madison Welch and Neveah Louden scored the Mars Hill goals.
The Railsplitters held the Lions scoreless, netting five more goals in the second and leading by 10 entering the half. LMU held Mars Hill scoreless once again in the third, increasing their lead to 16-2 entering the fourth.
Ashley Lindsay scored the Lions' second half goal with 9:29 remaining in the fourth. Deadre Jackson led all players with seven points (3g, 4a).
Mars Hill takes to the road on Saturday, March 9 when they face Catawba. First draw is set for 3 p.m.
