Mars Hill downed on road by Catawba

SALISBURY, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (2-6, 0-3 SAC) was defeated by Catawba (2-6, 1-1 SAC) by a score of 16-2 on the road Saturday afternoon.
The duo of Ella McCusker and Mary Sorvillo struck two times apiece for the Indians in the first quarter, leading Catawba to a 5-0 advantage after the first 15 minutes of play. McCusker converted the hat-trick bid early in the second, putting the Indians up by six.
Neveah Louden broke the shutout bid with a free position goal with 10:14 remaining in the half. Catawba tacked on one more goal in the second, beginning a run of nine straight goals the lasted through the second half until the 13:19 mark in the fourth where Ashley Lindsay scored the final goal of the contest.
McCusker led all players with four goals and points while Charlize Skepple added four points on the day (3g, 1a). Both Lions' goals were unassisted.
Mars Hill returns to action on Wednesday, March 13 when they face Emory & Henry on the road. First draw is set for 5 p.m.
