Mars Hill begins competition at SAC Championships
The Mars Hill women's track and field team opened up the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday afternoon.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's track and field team opened up the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday afternoon.
Alina Mueller placed third overall in the indoor pentathlon, earning 2,839 points. She collected six team points for Mars Hill.
She placed second in the 800 meter with a time of 2:34.68. Mueller placed fourth in both the high jump with a mark of 1.47 meters and long jump with a distance of 4.83 meters. She rounded out the event with a fifth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles and a sixth place finish in the shot put with a distance of 8.12 meters.
In the 200 meter, Keagan Osika placed 25th overall with a time of 27.34. Elana Mackey finished 28th in the 400 meter with a time of 1:04.61.
In the 800 meter, Lindsey Jenkins finished with a time of 2:28.59, good for 16th overall.
Alyssa Jamerson placed 18th in the 5000 meter with a time of 21:09.56. Finishing close behind in 19th was Megan Van Etten with a time of 21:50.26. Emma Bridges turned in a time of 22:32.30, finishing 21st.
The quartet of Jenkins, Bridges, Jamerson, and Mueller placed ninth in the distance medley with a time of 14:20.80.
Mykayla King, in the pole vault, placed eighth overall with a mark of 2.78 meters, earning one team point for the Lions.
