Lions finish third at Bruins XC Night Classic
The Mars Hill women's cross country team placed third at the Bruins XC Night Classic, ran at Bob Jones University.
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's cross country team began their 2023 campaign with a strong showing at the Bruins XC Night Classic at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. The women finished as the 3rd scoring team over the 4k race distance.
In her first race in the Mars Hill jersey, Hannah Frazer led the Lions with her 3rd place overall finish and time of 16:29.9. Also finishing in the top ten overall and the second female Lion runner, was sophomore Lindsey Jenkins, who finished seventh with a time of 16:58.5.
The duo of freshman Sophia LeBrun and sophomore Emma Bridges worked well together throughout the race and finished as the 3rd and 4th scorers for the Lions in 19th and 20th place overall, respectively, with times of 18:12.8 and 18:15.6.
Senior Megan Van Etten rounded out the final scoring position for the Lions with her 26th place finish in a time of 19:10.
