Men's Swimming Defeats King
BRISTOL, TENN. – The Mars Hill men’s swim team continued its impressive 2016-17 campaign by handily beating King University 116-86 on Friday evening. The Lions have now won five consecutive duals.
BRISTOL, TENN. – The Mars Hill men's swim team continued its impressive 2016-17 campaign by handily beating King University 116-86 on Friday evening. The Lions have now won five consecutive duals.
Two-time Appalachian Swimming Conference Male Swimmer of the Week, Erwin Ortiz, once again paced the Blue and Gold with three victories on the evening, including two individuals (1000 free and 100 fly), as well as helping the 800 free relay team touch the wall first.
Matthew Walker and Andy Disco collected top finishes in the 500 free and 100 breast, respectively, while also being a leg of the winning 800 free relay and 200 medley relay teams.
Grant Greenhill, Harrison Butler, and Ryan Martin were the other three legs of the 200 medley team, while Brett Malmstrom and Jake Moore captured team honors with Ortiz and Walker in the 800 free relay.
The Lions will return to action on Saturday, January 21 as they host Milligan and Warren Wilson on Senior Day. The duals are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
