Disco sets school record on day three of BMC Championships
Andy Disco set a Mars Hill school record in the 400 meter IM on day three of the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Andy Disco set a Mars Hill school record in the 400 meter IM on day three of the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships.
Disco, competing in the bonus final of the event, swam a time of 4:12.20; good for 18th overall. Teammate Michael Piumelli placed 24th overall.
In the championship final of the 200 yard freestyle, Erwin Ortiz posted a time of 1:41.19 for seventh. Elijah Sears placed 12th overall in the 100 yard breaststroke, fourth in the consolation final.
Competing in the 100 yard backstroke consolation final, Brendan Cyprianos and Harrison Butler placed sixth and eighth. They finished 14th and 16th overall.
The team of Sears, Harrison Butler, Matt Walker and Vitor Goncalves placed eighth in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:26.56.
Mars Hill falls from sixth to eighth place overall with 334 points. They trail Lenoir-Rhyne for seventh by 10 points.
