EMMANUEL, Ga. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (0-2) was defeated by Emmanuel (2-0) by a score of 20-2 on the road Saturday afternoon.
Emmanuel opened the game on a 13-0 run before the Lions' broke through and scored their first of the contest. Samantha Newton scored with 40 second remaining in the half.
She added an assist just 1:01 into the third quarter as Chandler Werner netted the Lions' second goal of the contest.
Both Paige Murphy and Lauren Kuschel scored seven goals apiece for Emmanuel with Murphy adding four assists for 11 points on the day.
Lauren Bryner made 14 saves on the afternoon.
Mars Hill opens their home slate on Wednesday, February 14 when they host Wingate. First draw is set for 6 p.m.
