Women's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at Covered Bridge Open
Mars Hill finishes in sixth at the season-opening Covered Bridge Open
BOONE, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's cross country team finished in sixth place at the Covered Bridge Open hosted by Appalachian State University on Friday. Mars Hill finished with 180 points and was the top-finishing NCAA Division II team at the meet. Florida State was the overall winner with 29 points, followed by Florida with 42.
Shelby Robinson led Mars Hill with a 5-kilometer time of 21:10.82, putting her in 58th place. Dawn Radford finished two spots behind Robinson in 21:24.02. Savannah Hulbert scored a 67th place result as she finished in 22:10.30. Andrea Wolfrey finished in 22:24.46, with freshman Justice Nelson recording a time of 22:43.44 in her first collegiate meet. Danielle Dunn crossed the finish line in 23:29.27, followed by Alex Herbison in 25:12.65.
Mars Hill returns to action next Saturday, traveling to the Furman Invitational.
