The Mars Hill women's cross country team looks to continue a season filled with new personal bests at the Southeast Regional meet on Saturday
MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's cross country team will compete in the 2015 Southeast Regional meet on Saturday morning at Wingate University.
The women's team enters Saturday's meet looking to conclude a solid season after finishing in eighth place at the SAC Championship. Shelby Robinson has been the top finisher for Mars Hill in four of five meets this season, including the Bulldog Stampede on September 26. Nyla Feeney has established herself as one of the top five runners after joining the team midseason without any prior cross country experience.
Several members of the team have established new personal bests this season. The Lions head to tomorrow's meet already having experienced some success on the Wingate course as MHU set a season-best team average time of 26:09.63 at the 6K distance during the Bulldog Stampede.
The top three teams automatically qualify for the NCAA National Championship meet in Joplin, Mo. on November 21. Additionally, the top three individual finishers not on a qualifying team will earn an individual spot at the national meet.
Competition begins tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m.
