Athletic Highlights: November 6th – November 12th
Football: The Lions defeated Newberry, 21-14, on Senior Day to wrap up their season. Over 20 seniors were recognized pregame and Dr. Jay Jansen, Mike Kelly, and Bill Mitchell were inducted into the Mars Hill Hall of Fame at halftime. The Lions finished their campaign at 8-2, 7-2 in the SAC.
Men's Soccer: Peter Plougmand and Jorge Perez Prada were named to All-SAC teams. Plougmand, for the second year in a row, was a First Team selection while Perez Prada was a Third Team selection.
Women's Soccer: Camryn Miller and Samantha Swinson were both named to the All-SAC Second Team.
Volleyball: Mars Hill went 1-1 in the final week of the regular season, falling to Tusculum in straight sets, but defeating Newberry on Senior Day. The Lions clinched their sixth straight SAC Tournament appearance, facing Wingate Monday night.
Men's Basketball: The Lions went 0-2 to open their season at the SAC/CC Challenge. Kadyn Dawkins averaged 21 points per game in his return. The Lions face Young Harris on Wednesday and Erskine on Saturday, both on the road.
Women's Basketball: Mars Hill went 1-1 to open their season at the SAC/CC Challenge. Maddie Gillie led the Lions with 21 points in their win over Southern Wesleyan. They open up their home slate on Wednesday when they face Lees-McRae and host Bluefield State on Saturday afternoon.
Swimming: The Lions compete in the three-day Bulldog Invite, hosted by Union College, beginning Friday.
