
Lions' soccer lands six on CSC Academic All-District Teams
Five men's soccer players and one from the women's squad were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams.
MARS HILL, N.C. - Six Mars Hill University soccer players were selected to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced by the group Tuesday afternoon.
The men's soccer team posted five on the team while Carla Humera was the lone Lion selected on the women's side.
For the men, Ben Harvey, Bruno Fornes, Nolan McMillen, Sam Bayly, and Peter Plougmand were named to the team.
Plougmand, Bayly, and McMillen were also named Academic All-America finalists and advanced to the national ballot.
Per the CSC: "Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Dec. 10, 2024 (men) and Dec. 11, 2024 (women).
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure."
