2016 Lion Football Schedule Announced
Lion Head Football Coach Tim Clifton has announced the 2016 schedule
MARS HILL, N.C. – Lion Head Football Coach Tim Clifton has announced the 2016 schedule. Mars Hill will play an 11-game schedule with the Lions hosting five contests in the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.
Mars Hill opens the 2016 campaign at NCAA Division I opponent Samford on Thursday, September 1. The Lions then open the home slate hosting Shorter on September 10.
After travelling to Limestone on September 17, the Lions start South Atlantic Conference play at Carson Newman on September 24. MHU will then play their third straight road contest at North Greenville on October 1.
Mars Hill will play their annual Homecoming game on October 8, when they host Newberry. The Lions will host Catawba on October 15, before travelling to Lenoir-Rhyne on October 22.
The Lions will return to Meares Stadium on October 29, when they host Tusculum before playing at Wingate on November 5. Mars Hill close out regular season play on November 12 hosting Brevard.
All home contests will begin at 1 p.m. with the exception of the Homecoming game that will start at 1:30 p.m.
