Four Lions earn spots on Don Hansen All-Super Region Two Team

BROOKFIELD, Ill. - Four Mars Hill Lion football players earned Don Hansen All-Super Region Two Team honors, as announced Tuesday afternoon. Senior wide receiver Keshaun Taylor highlights the group with his first team selection.
Taylor, who was named to the D2CCA All-Super Region Two first team in December, adds another postseason accolade to his resume. The wide receiver led the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) this past season in several receiving categories. He hauled down 64 receptions for 1,281 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games. Taylor also finished atop the league with 1,522 all-purpose yards. He had one passing and rushing touchdown apiece as well.
Sophomore wide receiver Craig Rucker and senior offensive lineman Brandon Berridge were selected to the second team offense. Rucker finished third in the SAC this season with 915 receiving yards, averaging 91.5 yards per game. He hauled down six touchdown passes, including a season-long 72-yard touchdown reception against UNC Pembroke in a 56-44 victory on November 4 at home. Berridge, a Sophia, North Carolina native, played in all 10 games for the Lions this season and had an average grade of 87% with a 90% on running blocking per game and 84% on pass blocking per game. He finished the year with 32 knockdown blocks.
Senior quarterback David Salmon earned a spot on the third team offense. The Raleigh, North Carolina native led the SAC in several passing categories, including yards (2,766), yards per game (276.6) and attempts (314). He placed second in touchdowns with 23, one behind fellow third team selection, Catawba's Patrick O'Brien.
