Tazzetta scores six on road versus PBA

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (4-3) fell to Palm Beach Atlantic (3-3) by a score of 16-13 Saturday evening on the road in non-conference play.
Sydney Joyce opened the scoring in the first half, scoring two free position goals less than one minute apart. The Sailfish responded by scoring three straight, led by Kiki Cinotti's two. Mars Hill answered back with two goals of their own as Alexa Tazzetta gave the Lions the 4-3 lead with 10:04 left in the half.
The teams traded two goals apiece over the next three minutes. Palm Beach Atlantic, with 6:10 left in the first, scored three straight to extend their lead to 8-6. Kate LeBlanc picked up a goal and assist during the run. Closing out the half, both the Lions and Sailfish tallied one more goal apiece as Molly Tobias and Grace Bartlinski scored for their respective teams.
Continuing the theme from the first half, both teams went on matching runs to open the second half. The Sailfish scored three straight in the first 4:18 of the second with Cinotti picking up two assists. Mars Hill fought back with goals from Joyce, Kiersten Foust and Tazzetta, the latter two coming on the man advantage.
The Sailfish rebuilt their lead to five with three straight goals, two from the stick of Chelsea Smith. In the middle of the frame, the Lions outscored Mars Hill 3-1 with all goals coming from the stick of Tazzetta.
The teams went scoreless for the final 9:23 as the Sailfish picked up their third win of the season.
Cinotti led all players with eight points (2g, 6a) followed by Anna Laskaris' four goals. Tazzetta paced the Lions' offense with seven points (6g, 1a), establishing a new career-high. Joyce ended the contest with three goals and two assists for five points.
The Lions wrap up their Florida road trip on Monday night, facing off against Lynn. First draw is set for 6 p.m.
