MARS HILL, N.C. - Every Tuesday during the 2020 fall semester, a new Mars Hill Alumni Spotlight will be featured on the Mars Hill athletics' website.
Today, we highlight women's cross country and track & field alumna, as well as Mars Hill University Hall of Famer, Stacy Mark.
Mark was a member of the cross country and track & field teams from 1999-2002 and excelled all four years as a Lion.
She was named South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year in 1999 and helped lead Mars Hill to a SAC title. She, along with the team, carried over their success over the next two seasons, also taking home the conference titles.
Mark was named an All-SAC First Team Selection all four years of her collegiate career, including back-to-back SAC Runner of the Year honors in 2001 and 2002. She was named a Southeast Region Selection during those same years, including Southeast Region Runner of the Year in 2002.
Adding to her impressive cross country resume, Mark was named as an All-SAC selection in 2002 and 2003, including SAC Runner of the Year in 2003.
At the time of induction, Mark held the school records in the 1,500, 3,000, and 5,000 meter races as well as the 2,000 and 3,000 steeplechase.
Mark was inducted into the Mars Hill Hall of Fame in 2010.
