MHU Athletics reveals 2020-21 COVID-19 fan protocols for home basketball games
Mars Hill University Athletics has revealed their 2020-21 COVID-19 protocols for fans during the upcoming basketball seasons.
MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill University Athletics has revealed their 2020-21 COVID-19 protocols for fans during the upcoming basketball seasons.
- MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES BY EVERYONE IN THE GYM.
- A pass list by both Mars Hill teams must be submitted 24 hours prior to all home contests by the head coaches.
- Fans not on the pass list will not be permitted entry to Chambers Gymnasium.
- Only home fans and essential working personnel are allowed at the contests. No visiting fans will be permitted on campus.
- Every home basketball contest will be live streamed. Links can be found on marshilllions.com
- Maximum of 25 fans in attendance for each game. No outside attendance permitted.
- No concessions will be provided.
- Visiting team personnel and fans will be required to enter and exit through the same set of doors on the left-hand side of the lobby.
- For both contests, fans will be allowed to enter Chambers Gymnasium 15 minutes prior to tipoff.
- Visiting team personnel and fans will have a mandatory COVID-19 thermal scan prior to entering the gym as well as complete a COVID symptom attestation form. Fans who do not agree with this process or do not pass will be asked to leave immediately.
- Fans are not allowed to be in or near team areas including, but not limited to locker room areas, team benches, huddles, etc.
- Groups will be designated to sit 12-feet apart, as marked by the taped X's in the bleachers. There is no seating allowed in the first five rows of the bleachers.
- Fans are not permitted to congregate in the gym lobby pregame, halftime, or postgame.
- Fans of the women's game must exit Chambers Gymnasium promptly at the conclusion of the contest to begin our sanitation procedures for the men's game.
- Game time for the men's contest will follow 45 minutes after the completion of the women's contest. The gym will be completely sanitized with an electrostatic sprayer. Once sanitization is complete the teams will be given a 25-minute warmup period.
- Fans of the men's game must exit Chambers Gymnasium promptly at the conclusion of the contest. There will be no congregating on the court, bleachers or in the lobby after the contest.
