Women's Track Concludes Mountaineer Open
BOONE, N.C. – The Mars Hill women’s track team competed in the Mountaineer Open Indoor Track Meet on Saturday, January 30 in the Holmes Convocation Center on the campus of Appalachian State.
BOONE, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's track team competed in the Mountaineer Open Indoor Track Meet on Saturday, January 30 in the Holmes Convocation Center on the campus of Appalachian State. The women finished second out of eight total teams.
Autumn Miller and Arriel Smith were able to earn fourth and fifth places, respectively in the 400 meter race. Miller finished at 1:07.58 while Smith crossed the line at 1:07.99.
Shahnika Williams collected a first-place nod in the long jump event as she was able to clear 16 ft. 3 inches.
Samantha Burns earned a second-place finish in the triple jump as well as a fourth-place finish in the long jump event.
Shelby Robinson was able to shatter her previous personal-best in the 3000 meter race as she crossed the line with a new time of 11:17.15.
The Lions will return to action when they travel to compete in the Buccaneer Invitational on February 6-7.
