Lions kickoff spring season at JDL Early Bird Invitational
The Mars Hill women's track & field team kicked off the indoor track season today, competing in the JDL Early Bird Invitational hosted at JDL Fast Track.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's track & field team kicked off the indoor track season today, competing in the JDL Early Bird Invitational hosted at JDL Fast Track.
The Lions took 2nd in the 4x800m relay with a time of 10:56.03. Competing on the relay were Elana Mackey, Emma Bridges, Alina Mueller, and Lindsey Jenkins.
Senior, Alyssa Jamerson placed 23rd in the 3000m with a time of 12:38.23.
The freshmen trio Keagan Osika, Lacey Scott, and Tristen Quarles all competed in the 60m dash. Osika finished with a time of 8.38s, Scott a time of 8.84s, and Quarles a time of 9.64s.
In the field, Mueller placed 5th in high jump with a height of 1.43m.
Cierra Williams placed 13th in shot put with a throw of 9.65m. Teammates Bailey Beeman and Alicia Wittenhagen placed 16th and 17th with throws of 9.33m and 9.3m, respectively.
Haley Eddinger competed in both long jump and triple jump, placing 23rd in long jump with a mark of 4.24m and 15th in triple jump with a mark of 9.27m.
Next up, Mars Hill travels to Roanoke College to compete in the Bast-Cregger Multi Invitational.
