Lions place eighth at Trojan Opener
The Mars Hill women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Trojan Opener, placing eighth at the end the two-day meet on Saturday.
ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Trojan Opener, placing eighth at the end the two-day meet on Saturday.
DAY ONE RECAP:
The Lions ended day one of the Trojan Opener in first place with 17 points scored.
Mykayla King competed in javelin for her first time ever, placing second overall with a throw of 33.15m. King earned eight points for the Lions.
Makayla Rogers placed fourth in javelin, throwing a new personal best 29.62m. Rogers earned six points for the team. Rogers also placed eighth in triple jump with a jump of 9.55m. Rogers earned one point toward the team total.
Haley Eddinger placed seventh in triple jump with a season best jump of 9.64m. Eddinger earned two points for Mars Hill.
DAY TWO RECAP:
Alina Mueller competed in 100m hurdles, high jump, and long jump. Mueller placed fourth in the 100m hurdles, finishing in with a personal best time of 16.69s. She finished tied for fourth in high jump with a jump of 1.45m. Mueller earned 9.5 total team points between the two events. She also performed in the long jump, finishing in 12th with a jump of 4.75m.
Keagan Osika competed in high jump, the 100m and 200m. She tied for fourth in high jump with a jump of 1.45m. Osika earned 4.5 points toward to the team total. Osika placed 10th in the 100m with a time of 12.9s. Osika also sprinted to a personal best in the 200m with a time of 26.51s. She placed 16th overall.
Cierra Williams competed in discus and shot put. Williams placed 18th in discus with a throw of 23.88m. She advanced to the finals in shot put, placing seventh overall with a throw of 10.11m. Williams earned two points toward the team total.
Mykayla King set a new personal best in pole vault with a vault of 2.85m. King placed fifth overall in the event and earned five points toward the team total.
Lindsey Jenkins earned points for the team in both the 1500m run and 800m run. Jenkins placed eighth in the 1500m, finishing in a time of 5:04.68. She placed seventh in the 800m run with a time of 2:33.17. She earned three points on the day for the team.
Alyssa Jamerson placed 27th in the 1500m run with a time of 5:40.77. Jamerson also competed in the 800m run, placing 21st with a time of 2:50.82. Emma Bridges competed in the 1500m and 800m run. Bridges placed 29th in the 1500m run with a time of 5:43.66 and 15th in the 800m run with a time of 2:46.
Megan Van Etten placed 33rd in the 1500m run, finishing in a time of 5:53.64 and 24th in the 800m run with a time of 2:55.3.
Anahi Reta finished 36th in the 1500m run with a time of 6:13.38. Reta also participated in the 800m run, placing 26th overall with a time of 3:06.43.
Elana Mackey placed 20th overall in the 400m sprint with a time of 1:04.93s. Seanna Milton ran in the 400m sprint, placing 24th overall in a new personal best time of 1:13.96.
Makayla Rogers competed in long jump, placing 14th overall with a jump of 4.35m.
Lacey Scott ran in the 100m sprint, placing 18th with a time of 14.08s. Scott also partook in the 200m sprint, finishing in a time of 29.76s. She placed 26th overall.
Maya Adams competed in long jump and the 800m run. Adams placed 18th in the 800m run, finishing with a time of 3:17.14. In long jump, she placed 18th with a jump of 4.06m.
Bailey Beeman placed 12th in shot put with a throw of 9.29m. Beeman competed in long jump as well, placing 15th with a jump of 4.23m.
Haley Eddinger competed in the 100m sprint and long jump. Eddinger placed 17th in the 100m with a time of 13.9s and 16th in long jump with a jump of 4.15m.
Next up, the Lions travel to Montreat College to compete in the Montreat Invitational.
