Athletic Highlights: March 2 - March 9, 2020
Baseball: The Lions went 1-3 on the week, picking up their lone win on Saturday afternoon versus Queens in their series opener by a score of 17-5.
Softball: In their home opening contests, the Lions fell to SAC foe, Lincoln Memorial by scores of 10-1 and 11-4.
Men's Basketball: Mars Hill fell to the No. 2 nationally ranked Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters in their first South Atlantic Conference tournament appearance in 10 years Wednesday evening. Ja'Shawn Brooks, on Thursday, was named a First Team All-South Atlantic Conference selection in his final campaign with the Lions.
Women's Basketball: Junior De'Ja Marshall was selected as an All-South Atlantic Conference Honorable Mention after leading the Lions in points, points per game, and rebounds.
Men's Lacrosse: The Lions fell to Catawba in their 2020 SAC opener by a mark of 13-4. Junior Zac Carrigan netted two tallies, recording his SAC leading 23rd goal of the 2020 campaign.
Women's Lacrosse: Mars Hill fell to Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday evening in a back-and-forth affair. Freshman Alexa Tazzetta potted six goals and added one assist for a career-high seven points.
Men's Golf: The Mars Hill men's golf team placed seventh at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational Tuesday afternoon. Nicholas Boone was the top placing Lions.
Women's Golf: Mars Hill finished fifth at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational Tuesday afternoon with Emilee Wenmoth placing second overall, earning a spot on the all-tournament team.
Men's Tennis: The Mars Hill men's tennis team was defeated by a score of 7-0 versus Lenoir-Rhyne in SAC competition.
Women's Tennis: The Mars Hill women's tennis team was defeated by a score of 7-0 versus Lenoir-Rhyne in SAC competition.
