MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (1-6, 0-3 SAC) was defeated by Catawba (4-3, 2-1 SAC) by a score of 12-3 Saturday afternoon.
Catawba used a 7-0 third quarter to propel themselves to victory. Both Helena Cronemiller and Kylie Harris each struck twice in the frame.
The Lions scored twice in the fourth with goals coming from Addison Hellwig and Chandler Werner.
Catawba scored just once in the first quarter. Less than a minute into the second, the Lions tied the game with a goal off the stick of Brooklyn Nemitz.
Cronemiller and Harris led all players with two points (2g). Hellwig, Nemitz, and Werner each recorded a point apiece for the Lions.
Mars Hill returns to action on Wednesday, March 19 when they host Emory & Henry. First draw is set for 4 p.m. inside Meares Stadium.
