Lions place fourth at Bulldog Invitational
Catalina Portilla sets school record in 200 yard butterfly.
Barbourville, KY – The Mars Hill women's swim team finished fourth out of seven teams at the 2024 TYR Bulldog Invitational over the weekend with 545.5 total points.
The 200-medley relay of Sofia Ospina, Maria Arrabal, Catalina Portilla, and Maria Jose Orozco secured a second-place finish with a time of 1:50.63. This time was nearly 20 seconds faster than the Lions' best time so far this season.
Portilla was the top scorer over the weekend with a total of 69 points. Her first-place finish in the 200-fly set a new school record with a time of 2:08.32.
Arrabal also earned a first-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:25.11. An impressive four seconds faster between prelims and finals.
The Lions return to action at home on January 11th against Emory & Henry and Lees McRae.
