Stewart named SAC Defensive Player of the Week
Mars Hill middle blocker Nikkayla Stewart was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as released by the league Monday morning.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill middle blocker Nikkayla Stewart was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as released by the league Monday morning.
Stewart, a sophomore from Greeneville, Tenn., was instrumental in the Lions' SAC wins last week over Carson-Newman (3-0) and Limestone (3-2). She recorded 13 total blocks last week, averaging 1.63 blocks per set. She also had 15 total kills and a .303 hitting percentage for the week.
Stewart leads the Lions with 29 blocks and is third on the team in hitting percentage (.319).

Mars Hill hosts Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday, September 20 at 6 p.m. They take to the road on Friday, September 23 to square off against Wingate at 7 p.m. and close out their weekend roadtrip on Saturday, September 24 when they face Coker at 2 p.m.
