MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill University football team will not compete in Saturday's scheduled contest against Carson-Newman due to a positive COVID-19 test within the Mars Hill program.
Following Mars Hill University's health and safety protocols, the team will pause its practice sessions as well for the next several days. The team is expected to resume competition on Friday, April 2, with a home contest against the University of Virginia's College at Wise.
"The team has worked hard and is understandably disappointed to be out of competition against a close rival. I have no doubt they will take every opportunity to come back strong with giant effort to finish this unusual spring season," said Director of Athletics Rick Baker.
