Sage Named to Academic All-District At-Large Team
Ryan Sage has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District III men’s at-large team
MARS HILL, N.C. - Senior lacrosse midfielder Ryan Sage has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District III men's at-large team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Sage is a member of the at-large team for the second consecutive year and moves on to the national ballot for the Capital One Academic All-America at-large team as a result of being a first team selection.
Sage, a Biology major with a 3.96 GPA who received his degree at Mars Hill's commencement activities this past Saturday, finished fourth in the South Atlantic Conference with 40 goals and seventh with 48 points. He earned a spot on the All-SAC second team and is fifth among NCAA Division II players with 2.86 goals per game and 11th with 4.14 points per game.
Student-athletes selected for Academic All-District honors must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials. They must possess at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.00 scale). They must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have completed at least one full academic year at his or her institution. The Capital One Academic All-America NCAA Division II at-large teams will be announced on Wednesday, June 10.
