Mars Hill felled on road versus Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (2-4, 0-3 SAC) was defeated by a score of 28-11 versus Anderson (4-1, 2-0 SAC) Saturday afternoon.
A potent Trojans' offense showed up in the first quarter, opening the contest on a 9-0 run. Isaiah Hines recorded a hat-trick in the frame while Beau Henson added two. Ryley Zopfi bookended the scoring in the opening 15 minutes. Zac Carrigan netted the lone Mars Hill tally.
In a more evenly played second stanza, the Lions potted four goals with Carrigan scoring two and Brandon Beland and Trevor Kennedy adding one apiece. Hines added his fourth of the half with under two minutes to play in the second quarter.
Anderson scored five unanswered goals in the final 5:39 of the third to build their lead to 23-7 entering the fourth. Kaleb West struck twice for the Trojans while Carrigan and Kennedy scored for Mars Hill.
Mirroring the second, Anderson outscored the Lions 5-4 in the fourth. Carrigan picked up three points (2g, 1a) in the final 15 minutes of play while Beland added a goal and an assist.
Hines (4g, 2a) and Garrett Hawkins (1g, 5a) led the Trojans with six points apiece. West (4g, 1a) added five.
Carrigan led all players with seven points (6g, 1a). Beland chipped in with six (2g, 4a) while Kennedy ended the day with four points (3g, 1a).
The Lions return to action on Wednesday, March 10 when they host Lincoln Memorial. Faceoff is set for a 7 p.m. start.
