Carrigan scores six versus No. 17 Queens
The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (3-5, 1-4 SAC) fell to No. 17 Queens (3-2, 3-0 SAC) by a score of 20-12 Saturday afternoon at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (3-5, 1-4 SAC) fell to No. 17 Queens (3-2, 3-0 SAC) by a score of 20-12 Saturday afternoon at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.
Queens carried a slim 6-5 advantage into the second quarter. Tyler Ewen and Quinn Tallant each netted two goals. Zac Carrigan recorded a hat-trick in the first while George Yanssens and Justin Lundy added tallies.
The Lions struck for the first two goals of the second off the sticks of Braden Hoskyn and Jackson Courson, but Queens responded, scoring five straight to end the half up 11-7.
Queens carried the momentum over to start the second half, scoring five straight to open the third quarter and outscoring Mars Hill 8-1 in the frame.
Mars Hill responded with a 4-1 fourth quarter. Carrigan netted two while Brandon Beland picked up a goal and an assist.
Tallant led all players with seven points (6g, 1a) while Ewen (3g, 2a) and Austin Leonard scored five goals. Carrigan led the Lions with six goals while Beland recorded five points (1g, 4a).
The Lions return to action on Saturday, March 20 when they face No. 6 Wingate on the road. Faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
