JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (1-1-1, 1-1 SAC) was blanked 3-0 versus Carson-Newman (2-1-1, 1-1 SAC) Thursday evening on the road.
Mars Hill was held shotless in the opening 45 minutes of play, finding themselves trailing 2-0 entering the second half.
The Eagles' Theo Hardenby Öhrwall booted home a pass from Thaylan Silva in the 26th minute to open the scoring. Silva picked up his second assist of the half in the 33rd minute off of a Nic Carsh goal. Yannick Kranz also recorded an assist.
In the 68th minute, Harry Whitehead netted his second of the season with Kranz and Crash earning the assists.
The Lions recorded their only two shots of the contest in the second half, one apiece from Ollie Baggett and Jeppe Christensen.
Mars Hill returns to the pitch on Thursday, March 11 when they host Lincoln Memorial in their 2021 home opener. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
